My name is Michael Woodward. I am really looking forward to the starting this course of instruction.
I have been feeling the call to the ministry from some time now but knew that I couldn’t afford it as I’m on disability due to a liver transplant. Had been having a very frustrating time lately due to insurance problems. Last Wednesday as I arrived at Bible Study, my pastor called me aside with those ominous words “I need to talk to you!” He then added “it’s a good thing” which kinda relieved my feelings of anxiety from past mentions of the previous phrase.
He asked me if I still felt called to the ministry and I replied “yes, I certainly do”. He preceeded to tell me that he had received a letter from a pastor he knew in Albuquerque, who had started CCFBC. He then handed me a flyer describing CCFBC and a business card that stated to use a coupon code for a full scholarship. I was floored! Had to sit down for a moment to let what he told me sink in. After the last couple of months struggle, I really needed God’s message regarding His will for me!
I have lead an interesting life, not a good one, though parts have been really good. I’ve been in trouble with the law, done drugs, led a loose life, and generally was good at being a sinner. A couple of years ago, a couple came into our life who invited us to church. My wife and I were welcomed into a Calvary Chapel church as long lost family members. We loved the teaching, the worship, and the sense of belonging we felt.
Since that time I have felt that God was calling me for something. I’ve prayed for God to reveal His will for me and He finally has.
Thanks Pastor Scott for the scholarship! My Pastor (Dave Fitzgerald) also thanks you!

Chris,
Thanks for the encouragement! I will not be discouraged while God is with me. He has led me out of the life I had when I had control. He has always been there even while I didn’t want him there. I am in prayer always, I know no other way to stay strong in the Lord.
I am really looking forward to serving my Lord in whatever way He wants. With Him on my side, I’m not scared but keep my eyes on Him.
Your brother in Christ

Thanks for the welcome Johnny.
If I don’t stay focused on Christ, I start to fall back into the life I once led. I start taking control of my life and start remembering the old man as something good. By staying focused on Christ, I stay focused on the new man and letting Him have control. He has led me here and He will led me onto whatever task He has for me. That makes me happy!
