Hey guys,
Just wanted to “say hello” as I was encouraged to do so when I started the modules.
My name is Phil McKay, I am currently serving as lead Pastor of Calvary Chapel Paris, in Paris, Texas.
I received the information for the CCF Bible College in the mail with the opportunity for a scholarship and because this seems to fit both my hectic schedule and my felt need for learning more about theology, leadership, counseling and apologetics, I have signed up! I am excited about what I have seen and heard so far, and I am really looking forward to being challenged to think, learn and relearn in regards to the simple, biblical principles related to ministry. I am also a church planter, and am looking forward to learning about how to be more involved in sending others out to plant. I also am very grateful for the focus on godly character in this program, I can see already that it will be good for me.
A short summary of my background is that I began to work at Calvary Chapel of Vista, CA under Pastor Rob Salvato in 2000. In 2006, my wife and I moved to Costa Rica where we planted a Spanish speaking Calvary Chapel. In 2015 we turned that church over to a Costa Rican pastor. He is continuing to pastor and lead that ministry. God opened a door for us to come and serve as the lead pastor at Calvary Chapel Paris, in Paris Texas, which is where we are today. I have wanted to take some classes and learn and study some things for a while, and have done some of that, but this is the first time I have actually signed up and enrolled at a Bible College, so I’m excited that God has given me this opportunity.
I am thankful for CCF Bible College and looking forward to this time of training, learning, and re-learning!
Your brother in Christ,
Phil -

Welcome! Thanks for stopping in and telling us a bit about yourself! I am so excited that you are able to be part of the school!
We do have something in common, my family became missionaries in Cabo San Lucas Mexico a long ways back and helped plant Calvary Chapel Los Cabos.
Look forward to seeing you around on the school website. Let me or any of the other leadership team members know if you need anything or have questions.
